What is the price of your awareness?
Imagine that one fateful evening, while surfing the internet, you come across an intriguing ad:
“Trade your awareness for a billion dollars“.
You become curious and click on the ad. The advert takes you to an elegant website adorned with images of luxury and promises of limitless wealth.
The offer is simple: surrender your consciousness and in return you will receive one billion dollars. No strings attached.
Would you accept the offer?
What would life be like without awareness?
Would the money really bring you happiness?
Let’s assume for a moment that you press the “Accept” button…
In that electrifying moment, you watch as the screen explodes with numbers—your bank account steadily fills up, reaching an astounding one billion dollars. For a brief, transcendent moment, you feel a surge of exhilaration and possibility. Every digit that adds to your balance seems to whisper promises of a life transformed, of dreams finally within reach.
But then, as if someone had slowly dimmed the lights on your world, something shifts. The vibrant awareness that once perceived each new figure begins to fade. In an instant, the spark that made every moment meaningful slips away, leaving you in darkness. You are no longer the conscious architect of your destiny; instead, you find yourself on autopilot—moving through your days without the guiding flame of awareness.
The change is clearly noticeable for those around you. Friends, family, and colleagues notice that the eyes that once shone with curiosity and passion now appear vacant. You go about your daily routine mechanically, unable to savor the very wealth that has been bestowed upon you. The billion dollars, a symbol of limitless opportunity, become mere numbers on a screen—untouched by the wonder they once inspired.
Without the light of consciousness, there is no appreciation for the abundance you now possess. Your body carries you through each day, but your awareness, the seat of true perception, has been silenced. Others see a person who lives entirely on autopilot: tasks are completed, routines are kept, and the luxury of freedom that could come with immeasurable wealth remains empty and meaningless.
In this state of absolute unawareness, all the money loses its value. After all, what use is wealth if you are no longer able to experience it? Without awareness, the glamour of money disappears and what was once considered a life-changing power becomes an empty symbol of an existence that no longer has any deeper meaning.
The bitter truth emerges: without the consciousness and fire of your own awareness, it is impossible to experience, let alone enjoy even a fraction of the beauty, joy and fulfilment that life can offer. And so the price of your decision remains irreplaceably high – because you have lost access to your own life.
